NCIS is officially making Officer Reeves a member of the family.

The CBS drama has promoted Duane Henry — who joined the cast last season in the recurring role of MI6 Officer Clayton Reeves — to a full-fledged series regular ahead of Season 14, TVLine has learned.

Henry’s upgrade comes amid word that Sarah Clarke, whose character Tess Monroe also boarded NCIS last season, will not be back. Meanwhile, the rejiggered Season 14 cast will also include Wilmer Valderrama and Jennifer Esposito as new full-time agents. (It apparently takes a village to replace Michael Weatherly!)

A quick refresher on Reeves: The Brit rose above his blue collar roots to become a successful government agent. Offbeat and fun with swagger to spare, he has a professional confidence that’s impossible to disregard. To say Reeves has burned some bridges in the international intelligence community is an understatement, but he owns the choices he’s made and he’s determined to do what’s right.

NCIS kicks off its 14th season on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8/7c.

Jennifer Esposito is eyeing a return to the CBS procedural fold via NCIS.

Sources confirm to TVLine that the Blue Bloods alum is joining Season 14 of TV’s most-watched drama in the series-regular role of Special Agent Alexandra “Alex” Quinn. An experienced NCIS agent who left field work and became an instructor at the Law Enforcement Training Center, Quinn is lured by Gibbs (Mark Harmon) back into the field as part of his team, where he will take advantage of her sharp wit, quick mind and immense talent as a federal agent.

Meanwhile, TVLine has confirmed that Sarah Clarke — who boarded the CBS juggernaut last season in the recurring role of Special Agent Tess Monroe — will not be returning.

“We couldn’t be happier to have Jennifer Esposito joining us for Season 14,” said EP Gary Glasberg in a statement. “She embodies everything that we hoped for in the character of Quinn and we can’t wait to have her come be a part of our team.”

Esposito — who most recently co-starred in ABC’s Mistresses — marks NCIS‘ latest significant Season 14 move, following last month’s casting of Wilmer Valderrama (also as a series regular) and this week’s promotion of Duane Henry (Officer Reeves). This comes as NCIS heads into its first season without Michael Weatherly, whose 13-year run on the CBS juggernaut ended with last month’s Season 13 finale.

NCIS kicks off its 14th season on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8/7c.

Wilmer Valderrama Cast As NCIS Series Regular

Grab your gear, Wilmer Valderrama!

The talented actor is becoming an agent on NCIS, where he’ll be a series regular when television’s #1 drama returns for its fourteenth season.

Valderrama’s character will emerge from a years-long deep cover assignment, with many of his NCIS colleagues unaware that he’s still working there—or even alive! Once known as a grounded field agent, his dedication to job and country have left him an unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon.

“Wilmer Valderrama will be able to flex his dramatic, physical, and comedic talents in this classic NCIS role,” said Executive Producer Gary Glasberg. “Fans are going to see him like they’ve never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We’re thrilled he’s coming aboard.”

You’ll recognize Valderrama from previous roles on Grey’s Anatomy, That ‘70s Show, Minority Report, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and Awake. His film credit include To Whom It May Concern, The Adderall Diaries, Larry Crowne, From Prada to Nada, Fast Food Nation and The Dry Land.

NCIS will be adding a real pistol to its armory in Season 14.

As first reported by TVLine’s Ask Ausiello — two weeks before Michael Weatherly’s end-of-season exit was announced — TV’s most watched drama is aiming to add two series regulars for the foregone conclusion that is Season 14. And now we have intel on the female of the two noobs.

To be introduced in time for the Season 13 finale, the CBS drama is seeking a “name” actress to play “Tess,” an FBI Special Agent in her late 30s who has recently transferred to D.C. from New York City’s Counter-Terrorism Unit. Described in the tentative casting breakdown as “quick-witted, sarcastic, shrewd” and “two parts bulldog, one part sweet kitten,” the G-woman can just as easily keep up with a group of politicians talking at a black-tie fundraiser as she can truck drivers at a roadside diner. In her mind, sleep and sex are “overrated” while a good martini and a rare bacon cheeseburger aren’t.
A three-time divorcée (because the husbands apparently “can’t keep up with her”) who has no children, Tess is content acting as “Mamma Bear” to any co-worker who needs a shoulder to lean on. Just don’t make her angry, because that’s when she tends to ruffle even her superiors’ feathers.

Question: What’s new for NCIS in 2016? —Marsha
Ausiello: The CBS juggernaut, perhaps inspired by our bullish renewal prediction, is looking to add a pair of fresh, young faces to the team in Season 14. The newbies, one male and one female, would both be series regulars.

Get ready to see some familiar faces on the upcoming 13th season of NCIS.

As Gibbs (Mark Harmon) recovers from the gunshot wound he suffered at the end of last season, his past will come back to haunt him – in more ways than one.

While he drifts in and out of consciousness post-surgery (which will be performed by guest star Jon Cryer), Gibbs once again begins having hallucinations involving Mike Franks (Muse Watson), his former colleague/mentor who was killed in Season 8. But, unlike his previous visions, these don’t stop with Mike.

“You have to remember that Gibbs is in a difficult place,” showrunner Gary Glasberg tells TVGuide.com. “He’s going to see some things and talk with some people that might surprise everybody. It’s no surprise that Mike is there, but there are some other people from his past who he also interacts with, in some really touching scenes.”

And not all of the returning faces will be apparitions. Episode 2 finds an old friend bringing a case to Gibbs “that sheds a bunch of light on Gibbs’ past and things that we still don’t know about,” Glasberg teases. But – sorry, Cote de Pablo fans – there is one important figure from Gibbs’ past who won’t be returning, in any capacity. “There’ll definitely be some surprise appearances of people from our NCIS past, but Ziva David is not one of them,” Glasberg says adamantly.

Who else would you like to see return to NCIS?

Question: Are we going to see ATF Agent Zoe Keates again on NCIS? I really like her and actress Marisol Nichols! —Lori
Ausiello:
As a matter of fact… yes, I can confirm that 24 alum Nichols will again reprise her role as DiNozzo’s former colleague, in an episode airing this spring.

Ask AusielloQuestion: Any new scoop on NCIS? —Marsha
Ausiello:
How about another casting tidbit — and this one’s near and dear to my heart. A Martinez, former star of Santa Barbara, TV’s greatest soap ever and one of my favorite shows ever, will guest-star in a late March episode titled “Patience.” Says EP Gary Glasberg of the ep: “It deals with the mystery surrounding a decades-old airport bombing. When new evidence surfaces, the NCIS team follows a cold clue trail that turns red hot. We were thrilled when A took the role of Orlando. His South American-based character is full of surprises and brings some real twists and turns to the investigation.” Eden and Cruz, forevah!

CBS’ NCIS will take its deepest dive ever into Agent Tony DiNozzo’s past with an episode that flashes back to his days as a teenager attending a military preparatory academy.

Taking on the role of Young DiNozzo, TVLine has learned exclusively, will be Tanner Stine, whose credits include Nickelodoen’s Haunted Hathaways and The Thundermans.

Showrunner Gary Glasberg touts Stine as a “terrific kid who literally studied Michael Weatherly’s mannerisms” and in turn “blew us away in the audition. He came in with the haircut, the attitude, the whole thing.”

Also guest-starring in the episode is Steve Harris (The Practice, Legends), appearing in both timelines as Tony’s onetime mentor/basketball coach who’s now the provost of the military academy he once attended.

TV’s most watched drama, NCIS presents its Christmas-themed winter finale this Tuesday at 8/7c. The Teenage Tony episode is due to air during February sweeps.
