From TvLine:

NCIS | Traditionally, NCIS starts up production in early July, so one would hope that word will break soon about Pauley Perrette, Michael Weatherly and Sean Murray signing on for Season 10. But when we saw Perrette on Tuesday night at the Thirst Gala, she was (charmingly) coy. Asked where things stand with her negotiations, all she would say is: “I love my job!” And as for what the premiere might look like, given that most every character had been left in jeopardy, there was little to dish. “We’ve seen no scripts — the cast has seen nothing – so we have no idea what’s going on,” she shared. “We’ll see.” On Perrette’s wish list if she does re-sign is further exploration of Abby’s relationship with her brother, which was touched on last fall. “The fans want that too,” she said, “so I think that will happen.”

From EW.com:

PLEASE tell me there’s something in store for Abby this season on NCIS. There wasn’t nearly enough of her last season. — Lorie
If that’s how you feel, good news! According to Pauley Perrette, who we caught up with at this week’s Thirst Project gala, this season will not only see returns from Abby’s brother and bestie (played by Meredith Eaton), but it will also take us deeper into her life beyond NCIS. “The only thing I do know in general [about the season] is we’re going to go a little bit more into Abby’s life more. People have been asking for it for a long time,” she says.

To those who, when I reported on Diane Neal guesting on USA Network’s Suits, hoped that the actress would also return to NCIS…. well, this is for you.

Speaking with TVLine at Tuesday night’s Thirst Gala event in Los Angeles (honoring those committed to ending the global water crisis), Neal revealed that she will once again reprise her role as Special Agent Abigail Borin, during the CBS megahit’s upcoming Season 10. (CBS was unable to confirm the casting as of Tuesday evening.)

First and foremost a Law & Order: SVU vet, Neal made her NCIS debut toward the end of Season 7, when Gibbs’ team discovered striking-slash-amusing similarities between themselves and their counterparts at CGIS (Coast Guard Investigative Services), which is led by Borin.

Also, as individuals, Borin and Gibbs discovered they share much — too much? — in common, rules lists, head-slap habits and all.

Neal most recently visited NCIS in the October 2011 episode “Safe Harbor,” when Gibbs’ team considered her as a “perfect match” for their boss. (With reporting by Vlada Gelman)

Brian Dietzen has officially been promoted to Series Regular, this up coming Tenth season.

@CBSTweet Cheers 2 NCIS Asst. Medical Examiner Jimmy Palmer! NCIS returns this fall w @briandietzen as a series regular

Several members of the NCIS team were in peril at the end of last month’s season finale, but it looks like regardless of how it all pans out, we’ll be seeing a lot more of Jimmy Palmer.

EW has learned exclusively that Brian Dietzen has been promoted to series regular on the show, which is going into its 10th season. He was formerly appearing on a recurring basis as the right-hand man to medical examiner Donald “Ducky” Mallard (David McCallum). “I’m very excited,” Dietzen tells EW. “After eight years of being with the show, I got a contract with CBS, and I couldn’t be happier about it.”

The promotion, says Dietzen, could very well indicate Palmer’s increased responsibilities next year — especially in light of Ducky’s heart attack in the season finale. Palmer’s whereabouts were also not entirely clear in the finale. Last viewers saw, he was planning to abandon his big wedding plans and head back to D.C. in order to help the team. “As far as I know I’m safe, and a contract is a good thing to indicate that,” he says.

Another bonus? Dietzen will finally join his cast mates in the opening credits next year — a move that will please some longtime NCIS fans, who have often questioned his absence. “I believe this year my name will be up at the front of the credits with everyone else, so we’ll have the full team at the front,” he says. “[For my featured shot], I’m hoping I can put on a wig with some long hair and run topless across the beach — something subtle but still classy.”

How much will Gibbs be affected by Dr. Ryan’s departure on NCIS? Will Jamie Lee Curtis ever come back? — Derek
ADAM:
Executive producer Gary Glasberg says the loss isn’t particularly hard on Gibbs, especially since Dr. Ryan is still breathing. “I really didn’t want to treat this relationship as if she was dead,” Glasberg says. “The show has a history of doing that and that’s not the case here.” So might the alive-and-well Dr. Ryan be back? “I’d like to believe that we approached it realistically, and that there are priorities she has in her life,” Glasberg hints. “But if they were able to reconnect down the road, I’d love to have Jamie Lee come back.”

On the long-running CBS crime procedural “NCIS,” Coté de Pablo’s character, Ziva David, is sexy but lethal, and has a keen spidey sense. In real life, the native Chilean loves the challenge of traveling on the edge: Her favorite journeys are undertaken map-free.

What’s something you never fail to pack in your suitcase for a trip?

Two things: moisturizer and sandals that work whether I’m going to museums or nice restaurants.

Carry-on or check-in?
Depends on the trip. If I’m going for a week at the beach, it’s a carry-on because there’s nothing to pack. If I’m going to Italy for a month, I have to check-in.

Window or aisle
Window.

What’s your idea of the perfect vacation?
I think vacations serve different purposes. There are the kinds where you stay by a beach, have a couple of margaritas and be with someone you love. Those are usually quick ones. Longer vacations are usually in cities like Paris, Rome or New York. They involve a stay at a comfortable hotel that doesn’t need to be luxurious, as well as dinners, lunches, museums, wandering around and getting lost and not using a map, trying to melt into the culture. That’s my favorite thing.

Any great “lost” moments?
Two years ago, we drove through Italy and had no reservations whatsoever. One afternoon, we got lost in this town where everything was closed for siesta. We were starving, so knocked on a restaurant door and got kicked out. Then, this tiny, shriveled up, lovely Italian lady popped out from a back door and said, “Would you like some pasta?” She fed us wine and pasta; everything made in her own kitchen. By not having everything planned to a T, there was spontaneity and magic.

Favorite hotel, resort or yurt you’ve ever stayed in?
In Porto Ercole in Tuscany – Il Pellicano, The Pelican.

Biggest regret you’ve ever had while on vacation.
I feel like I’m not really exploring if I’m not moving at all times, so I need to remind myself to just take it easy — that part of vacation is just relaxing, lounging around and not doing too much.

The one thing you’re willing to splurge on above all else
Food.

Any Tony-Ziva NCIS scoop? — Rita
ADAM:
Executive producer Gary Glasberg says it was no accident that the fan-favorite couple ended last season in close quarters when the bomb went off at NCIS HQ. “We’ll pick up with them in that elevator and, with the situation that they’re in, there will be some conversations,” Glasberg says. “Hopefully we’ll scratch our way a little bit deeper into the relationship.” What’s that? Sorry, I couldn’t hear you over this awesome Aerosmith song!

NCIS vet Rocky Carroll has closed a new deal to stick with the long-running CBS procedural, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The actor will continue to portray Director Vance — a role he often brings to NCIS‘ spinoff, NCIS: Los Angeles — through the series’ upcoming tenth season.
As previously reported, David McCallum (Ducky) has also signed on for another season with Gibbs and Co.

NCIS mainstays Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and Sean Murray, meanwhile, are still in talks to re-up with TV’s most-watched drama, but showrunner Gary Glasberg recently told TVLine that he has “no doubt that it will all work out.”
