Tony DiNozzo married? Ziva David in handcuffs?
Here’s your first look at the big interrogation scene from next Tuesday’s landmark 200th episode of “NCIS,” which puts an “It’s a Wonderful Life”-style spin on TV’s No. 1 drama.
Fans are used to seeing flirtatious — and single — NCIS agents Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) on the same side of the table, but in this alternate reality, a married Tony is putting the screws to Ziva, who’s still a Mossad officer.
“The interrogation is between them as if they hadn’t met” six seasons ago, says “NCIS” showrunner Gary Glasberg, who adds that the scenario is meant to explore how their never meeting “would have affected Tony in his world and Ziva in her world.”
SAY WHAT?: Tony (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva (Cote de Pablo) in the alternate reality episode. The scene is part of the fallout of “a situation” that NCIS boss Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) experiences, which makes him wonder about how decisions he’s made in the past have effected the lives of those around him.
“Life Before His Eyes” – During a routine stop for his morning coffee, Gibbs finds himself face-to-face with the barrel of a gun, which forces him to question choices he has made in the past and present, on the 200th episode of NCIS, Tuesday, Feb. 7

While Tony and Ziva of CBS’ NCIS will always have Paris (and whatever went down there), Agent DiNozzo and his former peer and paramour, E.J. Barrett (played by Sarah Jane Morris), are about to make memories of their own in a cozy safe house — and TVLine has a first look at the sure-to-be-intense reunion in close confines.
When TV’s most-watched drama series resumes Season 9 on Tuesday, Jan. 3, the investigation into the murder of a Navy Commander will lead Gibbs’ team to E.J. Barrett’s whereabouts. Shortly thereafter, Tony (Michael Weatherly) will find himself playing guard as E.J. lays low in the aforementioned safe house (ergo the episode’s title, “Housekeeping”).
Looking at that lumpy sofa bed, a whole lotta sleeping’s not gonna be going on, so you can probably count on much awkward banter as E.J. tries to account for her disappearing act in the season opener.

Gibbs and FBI Agent Tobias Fornell won’t know what hit ‘em in the Nov. 1 episode of NCIS, when a case brings their ex-wife Diane Sterling (Melinda McGraw) to their doorstep, and EW has your exclusive first look at the trio’s encounter.
Executive producer Gary Glasberg says Sterling, who fans know was married at separate times to both Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Fornell (Joe Spano), will be quite a force to be reckoned with. “When this part first came up it was a big question of who we could find that would be able to spar and really make something of the banter that we wanted between this character’s two ex-husbands,” he tells EW. “[Gibbs and Fornell] are two formidable, very unique characters, and it would take a very specific type of woman to handle both of them.”
One of the most humorous aspects of the episode, he adds, was the sense of an established, frank relationship shared among the trio. “There’s no hesitation and no qualms of holding back in anyway. She just lets them have it.” What’s even better? “They just take it,” Glasberg laughs. “It’s almost as if they’re used to it. I mean, they dish it back when they can, but that’s what’s fun about the way that Steve Binder and Reed Snyder wrote this character. There’s a familiarity that exists and you feel like you’ve been a part of it before.”
Glasberg says her visit will also be an informative one, as “a lot of feelings and memories come back as to why they were drawn to each other in the first place” and “will learn something about Gibbs and this specific wife,” he teases.
Looking forward to the episode, NCIS fans?
