NCIS star Pauley Perrette took some time out of the forensics lab to brighten the day of Los Angeles-area children. The actress teamed up with Wayde King and Brett Raymer from Animal Planet’s Tanked to donate a custom aquarium to Hope Gardens, a shelter for homeless mothers and children, on September 12.
“The guys do these incredible installations of aquariums — like phone booths and gumball machines — for high end celebrity people, but nothing would be better than providing for these kids,” Perrette tells TV Guide Magazine. “We went up and surprised the kids and to see the looks on their faces — they’d never seen anything like that before. It was unbelievable.”
A long time supporter of Hope Gardens, Perrette says the custom aquarium was designed especially for the children, who were even able to pick out their own fish. And while her kind act won’t be seen on an upcoming episode of Tanked, Perrette says, “I just really wanted to do it as a gift for them.”
Tanked airs Fridays at 9/8c on Animal Planet, while the new season of NCIS kicks off Tuesday, September 20 at 8/7c on CBS.
