Jamie Lee Curtis has signed on for a two-episode guest spot on NCIS during November sweeps, TVGuide.com has learned.
Curtis will play Charlotte Ryan, a career woman and single mom who works for the Office of Inspector General in the Defense Department. Described as strong and opinionated, Curtis’ character will spar with Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and the team like never before.
“The role of Charlotte Ryan got even better when the enormously talented Jamie Lee Curtis agreed to join us,” executive producer Gary Glasberg said. “Jamie’s shoot-from-the-hip style embodies everything we want from Ryan — humor, heart, strength and a lot of fun. We couldn’t be more excited she’s here. And don’t be surprised if there are sparks between Gibbs and Ryan. We’re expecting some real chemistry.”
Curtis’ appearance will serve as a reunion between her and Harmon: The duo co-starred in the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan.
Initially known for her work as a scream queen in horror films such as The Fog, Prom Night and the Halloween franchise, Curtis, 52, has also appeared in Trading Places, A Fish Called Wanda and True Lies. The 52-year-old actress co-starred with Richard Lewis in the TV series Anything But Love and appeared in the short-lived series Operation: Petticoat. Her most recent small-screen role was on The Drew Carey Show.
NCIS’ ninth season premieres Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8/7c on CBS.
