The producer of NCIS has revealed that one of the crime drama’s regular characters could be killed off.

Shane Brennan told Entertainment Weekly that an NCIS agent would be the victim of a potentially fatal shooting in an upcoming episode.

“The shocking shooting opens a door to the past,” he explained. “[It] explains a relationship which has kept fans guessing for several seasons.”

Brennan teased that the character involved would be either McGee (Sean Murray), Vance (Rocky Carroll), Ziva (Cote de Pablo) or Tony (Michael Weatherly).

The incident will apparently take place in a special two-part episode, scheduled to air on November 16 and 23.

NCIS continues on Tuesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
